TUBEX Mátra Ltd., a German-owned company, is implementing a significant investment at its site in Sirok (NE Hungary), which will expand production capacity, modernize the facility, and support more sustainable operations, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) reports.
TUBEX manufactures lightweight metal packaging solutions, primarily producing aluminum aerosol cans and tubes. The company’s products are distributed to 24 countries worldwide, supplying international cosmetics and household brands such as L’Oréal, Unilever and Beiersdorf.
As part of the EUR 43.6 million project, the company is enhancing the production of aluminium packaging materials for cosmetic use. The development includes the reorganization of the segmented site, the full reconstruction of production halls, and the installation of new machinery.
The investment, about 15% of which is covered by state subsidy according to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is expected to create 56 new jobs.
In addition to upgrading production capabilities, the project also contributes to more sustainable operations, as a solar energy system will be installed to cover approximately 10% of the company’s energy demand.
