Unilever Hungary will be expanding its household chemical goods production facility in Nyírbátor, NE Hungary with an investment of EUR 42 million (now cca HUF 15 billion), adding 30 new jobs to the existing 300.
One of the most modern European plants of the British-Dutch parent company expands the floor area of its home care plant in Nyírbátor by one third (with an 11,000 square-meter packaging hall), thus increasing its production capacity by about a quarter. As part of the investment project to be could be completed in early 2021, the premises will also be expanded with two new production lines and an 8,000 square-meter state-of-the-art warehouse. Thanks to the development, the plant will be able to produce 370 million bottles of products instead of the current 300 million per year, and some of these will be made from recycled plastic.
The Managing Director of Unilever Hungary Ltd., Alberto di Leo said at the announcement the Nyírbátor plant is the most important of the company’s Hungarian production units, and called Hungary the company’s outstandingly important partner. He added that the Szent László Hospital in Budapest will receive a donation of disinfectant products from Unilever next week.
