Danish refrigerator manufacturer Vestfrost Solutions is investing HUF 5.6 billion in expanding production capacity at its base in Csongrád (SE Hungary), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Thursday.
The government is supporting the investment, which will create 123 workplaces, with a HUF 1.1 billion grant, the minister said according to a statement by his ministry.
The minister said annual production will increase to 105,000 refrigerators at the site.
Szijjarto noted that currently 140 Danish companies provide jobs to 18,000 workers in Hungary. In the last ten years Danish companies have made 18 major investments for a combined value of HUF 250 billion, he added.
