The Komárom-based cleaning products manufacturer Well Done Ltd. has invested more than HUF 1 billion in environmental protection projects, including a heat pump system to replace gas consumption and the production of recycled bottles for packaging its products, the managing director of the Israeli-owned company told MTI on Friday.

According to Zsolt Stefankovics, the company saves HUF 80 million a year by producing its own bottles, and the development will replace 400 tons of plastic with recycled material.

A heat pump system has been installed to modernize the heating system, thus eliminating the plant's gas consumption. The measure will save HUF eight million per year and avoid 165 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

The packaging made from recycled HDPE and PET materials will allow Well Done to offer its products on the shelves of several international stores, as one of the conditions for private label tenders is the use of recycled plastic," the manager explained.

For the production and storage of bottles, the company has built a 2,400 square-meter hall with an investment of HUF 1.2 billion. A non-refundable grant of HUF 234 million was awarded under the Széchenyi Plan Plus program for the purchase of machinery and heating modernization.

Well Done Ltd., based in NW Hungary, has been producing cleaning products, which are available in almost all retail outlets in Hungary, since 1996. The company employs 50 people and had a turnover of HUF 2.8 billion in 2020 and HUF 2.1 billion in 2021, a quarter of which was generated from exports.
