For the fourth year in a row, Provident Financial Ltd., the Magic Lamp Foundation and the Ludwig and Mentesi Ltd., operators of the Jókenyér bakeries, are holding their traditional Christmas preparation initiative. This November and December, children recovering in the Gottsegen György National Cardiovascular Institute will receive baked goods from three shops with the help of a team of twenty-six volunteers.
The days of children recovering in hospital at the Gottsegen György National Cardiovascular Institute will be sweetened by the thoughtfulness of the baked goods delivered by volunteers from Provident Financial Ltd. For the fourth year in a row, the financial services provider has been working with Ludwig and Mentesi Ltd, operators of the Jókenyér bakeries, to ensure that the products left in each shop at the end of the day are delivered to the best possible place. The initiative involves 26 volunteers who have volunteered their time to deliver freshly baked, but stocked, pastries from the three participating shops to the hospital.
"The healing power of a smile needs no introduction. Being in hospital as a child is never ideal, but for those there in November and December – if you can call them that – are even less fortunate, with short days and cold, often overcast weather making it harder to cheer up convalescing children. This is why we have chosen this period to implement the initiative and we are delighted to do so again this year. The thoughtfulness of our colleagues pays off many times over, knowing that the delicacies of the Jókenyér can distract the little patients for a while, bringing a smile to their faces and thus contributing to their speedy recovery," Márta Pálfalvi, Corporate Relations and Communications Director of Provident Pénzügyi Plc. said.
Volunteers from the financial services provider will work together in two teams to deliver the products of the three bakeries to the GOKVI reception so that the baked goods can be delivered to the children in need of treatment through the hospital staff.
