Vantage Towers Plc. supports the Hungarian Baptist Aid with a real estate donation. NK in Hungary. The company donated a property in the village of Magy to the charity, where that operates a community space, a social laundry and a bath for disadvantaged people living in the area, the company told the state news agency MTI on Friday.
The company recently bought the land for its 54-sqm base station in the village of Magy from the local municipality, and then divided the property, giving the base station a separate parcel number and the buildings operated by the Baptist charity service a separate parcel number. Following the donation, the charity is no longer a tenant, but owns the land.
The statement quotes Béla Szilágyi, President of the Hungarian Baptist Aid, as saying that "we are very grateful for the land donated to us, which we are using in this extremely underdeveloped region as part of our program for catching-up settlements".
The Hungarian Baptist Aid has been present in the settlement of Magy in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County since March 2018, with complex district and settlement catch-up programs: their aim is to improve the quality of life of the local population, with a strong emphasis on early childhood development, work socialization, education and health improvement, and improving housing conditions.
Vantage Towers Plc. is one of Hungary's leading tower companies with 2,200 base stations. The company's ambition is to use the land on which its telecom base stations are located in a more versatile way, beyond the operation and maintenance of the company, especially for social or sustainability purposes, the statement said.
Gergő J. Budai, the company's CEO, emphasized in the statement that in Magy, they are supporting the development of a micro-community by supporting the activities of the Hungarian Baptist Aid. The company and its employees have also joined the successful Shoebox initiative of the Hungarian Baptist Aid, which has been running for several years.
