American School 40th anniversary in Budapest

August 28, 2013

As it enters the 2013/2014 school year, the American International School of Budapest (AISB) celebrates 40 years of academic excellence. The school says this anniversary year creates the opportunity for the School community to reminisce, reconnect and celebrate its achievements with a series of events.

According to a statement by AISB, the celebration will unite current and former faculty and administration, alumni from the past years, as well as friends and peers. Events include a photo exhibition, cultural and art programs and an Alumni Reunion in May 2014.

The American International School of Budapest is a private and independent co-educational English-language day school, which operates on a 32-acre Nagykovácsi campus, 15 kms from downtown Budapest.

The school was established in 1973 by the United States Embassy, originally to serve United States Government employees’ dependents. AISB currently serves the needs of a rapidly expanding international population, including families of the local and expatriate business and diplomatic communities, as well as host-country nationals.

AISB offers an international curriculum, based upon the best practices of American pedagogy from Pre-K3 through grade 12 and offers the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program at the High School level.

The student body is currently comprised of 850 students representing more than 55 nationalities. AISB is committed to preserving this international character to foster and maintain a positive learning environment for developing engaged, lifelong learners and globally responsible citizens of tomorrow.
