Scheduled for this year's World Tourism Day, the renovated Dreher Beer Museum will reopen its doors in Kőbánya, awaiting visitors with one of the country's most important beer trade collections from September 23.
What ingredients are used to make beer? What beer drinking habits exist? How was beer made in the past and how is it made now? How did Antal Dreher Sr. become the world-famous 'Beer King'? The Dreher Beer Museum, has almost everything you need to know about beer and Dreher Breweries.
The Kőbánya Brewery founded the Brewery Memorial in 1979, on the 125th anniversary of its existence, and it was renovated on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. The country's unique professional collection awaits those interested with digital and interactive content as well as beer tasting. The museum’s artefacts are unique and irreplaceable historical relics of the brewing industry and the Dreher Breweries: technical and manufacturing tools, mock-ups, flags, posters, photographs, motion pictures, and works of fine art. The renewed exhibition includes the country's first canned beer and hundreds of years old relics, such as the memories of the former brewing guild in Pest, the spectacular model table of the factory, or the artistic fire bell of the former malt factory.
Visitors can first watch a short film about the history of the brewery and then take part in a 30-minute museum tour. At several points, QR codes call into the virtual space so that people can learn more about the history of an object. The program ends with a beer tasting, during which adult participants can choose from tapped Dreher Gold, Dreher Bak, Dreher IPA and canned Dreher 24 products.
