The Hollókő Easter Festival awaits visitors with folklore programs, Palóc (a local ethnic group) gastronomy, revival of folk traditions and the inevitable sprinkling of water at the four-day event, which this year will include concerts, family and children's programmes in the World Heritage village of Nógrád County, the organiser informed MTI on Monday.
According to the statement, the programs will be free of charge on Friday, April 18. There will be a flea market on Petőfi Street, egg painting in several places, archival pictures will be on display and old Hollókő films will be shown in the Visitor House, where the Hollókő fasting customs will be revived.
On Saturday, there will be gastronomic and traditional events in the courtyards of the Old Village, with music, folk life demonstrations, dance lessons and plum dumplings with traditionalists.
On Sunday, there will be traditional Hungarian water sprinkling, singing and dancing, and a Palóc storyteller will tell stories.
On Sunday and Monday there will be an Easter show with dancing and folk music, and in the evening there will be a sprinkling dance.
On Monday, after the Easter mass, visitors are invited to the Old Village for the 'big Easter sprinkling', where the dance and music program continues. On the main stage, the musical dance programs will be held.
