Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Robert Capa, the world renowned photographer of Hungarian descent, the National Bank of Hungary issued a gold memorial coin while the Hungarian Post Office came out with a commemorative stamp.
The coin and the stamp were ceremoniously launched at the National Museum in Budapest this Wednesday. The stamp shows one of Capa's pictures 'Woman gathering a bundle of hay on a collective farm' while the gold coin, depciting Capa himself, has a face value of HUF 5.000.
The National Museum has an exhibition on the life and career of Robert Capa with the title "Robert Capa - The player'. It is open to the public until January 12, 2014.
