The Hungarian Museum of Science, Technology and Transport commemorates that Budapest’s Ferihegy International Airport was inaugurated over 70 years ago, and also the beginnings of Hungarian aviation with another virtual exhibition.
The extensive photographic material at the exhibition presents Hungary’s early airports, and then, visitors can learn about the formation and further development of the country’s best-known airport, currently named ‘Liszt Ferenc International Airport’, through original visuals, photos, objects and newsletters related to the investment and operation.
The virtual exhibition opened on the occasion of the May anniversary is also a processing of the history of the first Hungarian airports. Following the presentation of the heroic era, the exhibition examines in detail the history of construction in Ferihegy and presents the building of the terminal, which was handed over 70 years ago. The exhibition deals with the further development of the international airport, highlighting the pictures of the past and present of the area.
