"Airplane Gizi", a veteran female thief in her 85th year, has been caught again, in Bicske, west of Budapest. She received her nickname in the 1950s for utilizing the then exisitng domestic flights in Hungary for burglaries nationwide.
Gizella Bodnar, who has been in and out of jail since the 1950s and who has so far served a total of more than 22 years in prison, is suspected of stealing HUF 15,000 forints (EUR 55) from a house in Munkacsy Street, Agnes R Szabo, Fejer County police spokeswoman, said.
This time police caught up with her at the local railway station. Handing over 14,500 forints, she told the officers who arrested her that she was throwing away a paper hanky when she noticed money in the bin.
