Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán hosted a bipartisan U.S. congressional delegation at the Parliament Building on Monday.
The meeting focused on defense and economic cooperation.
In a post on social media, Anita Orbán emphasized that “Hungary and the United States are bound by a close alliance, shared values and common strategic interests. Our cooperation is based on our NATO membership, our security partnership, and our strong economic and technological ties.”
During the meeting – which was also attended by Minister of Economy and Energy István Kapitány and Minister of Defense Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi – discussions focused primarily on further strengthening defense cooperation, deepening our partnership as NATO allies, and exploring opportunities for defense investments and the development of economic ties, the foreign minister stated.
“Our goal is for the results of this cooperation to not only strengthen relations between the two countries but also to bring tangible benefits to the Hungarian people, whether in the form of a more secure energy supply, new investments and jobs, or cutting-edge technological and defense cooperation,” Anita Orbán concluded in her post.
