Géza Jeszenszky has resigned as the Hungarian ambassador to Norway. The former foreign minister leaves his post with effect from October 31, hvg.hu learned. The website suspects Jeszenszky quit as he had enough of explaining the inexplicable: the Hungarian government’s hostile attitude towards NGOs distributing Norway Grant funds.
Hvg.hu has learned that Géza Jeszenszky asked to be relieved on the grounds that he wants to work on a book, but it has played a significant role in his decision that he constantly had to explain the Hungarian authorities’ pestering civilian organization in charge of handling money received from Norwegian Funds.
