Hungarian Ambassador to the U.S. to Leave his Post

The Hungarian Ambassador to the United States, Dr. László Szabó is to quit his post and return to the business world.

As an official from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told the Hungarian news agency MTI, the Ministry is completely satisfied with the work of the Ambassador but he will leave his post in Washington as he has accepted an invitation from the business sphere.

Dr. László Szabó was appointed Ambassador of Hungary to the United States in July 2017. Ambassador Szabó previously served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade from 2014 to 2017. Prior to his work at the Foreign Ministry, he had a long and distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry, namely as Vice President of Eli Lilly, a Fortune 500 company based in Indianapolis. László Szabó also served as CEO of TEVA Hungary from 2010 to 2014.
