Hungarian Diplomat Elected as WFUNA President

Ambassador Katalin Bogyay, Hungary’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations and UNESCO, and President of the Hungarian United Nations Association and the Hungarian National Commission for UNESCO, was elected President of the World Federation of United Nations Associations at the organization’s anniversary world congress and 44th plenary session in Geneva.

The election took place during the 80th anniversary year of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA).

Founded in 1946 (one year after the establishment of the United Nations), WFUNA is today a global civil society organization bringing together national UN associations from more than 100 countries and their members.
