Paul Fox, the United Kingdom’s new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary has handed over his credentials to János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary this Friday at Sándor Palace in the Buda Castle.
Commenting on taking up his service in Hungary, Ambassador Fox said that "as Ambassador, I will do all I can in the next few years to strengthen the strong bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and Hungary, as well as the friendship between our nations and our peoples.
I believe these strong ties between our countries will allow us to work together on a range of global challenges, for example the environment – a cause that will be at the heart of the activities of the British Embassy in Budapest as we prepare for the 26th UN climate summit, which will be organised in and chaired by the United Kingdom in November 2021, in partnership with Italy. I look forward to working with our Hungarian friends in confronting these shared challenges.”
Three other ambassadors also handed over their credentials to President Áder this Friday: Hernán María Patino Mayer of the Argentine Republic; Phen Savny of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Camilo Sanhueza of the Republic of Chile.
