On February 11, the president of the Hungarian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Rossen Tkatchenko took over the presidency of the EU-Chambers of Commerce in Hungary in an official ceremony.
The outgoing president of the EU-Chambers of Commerce János Takács - the president of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary - formally handed over the presidency in the presence of the Swedish Ambassador Niclas Trouvé and the Bulgarian Ambassador Bisserka Benisheva. The event was attended by representatives of 14 EU countries - leaders of diplomatic missions, commercial counsellors and other members of the diplomatic community, leaders of bilateral chambers in Hungary, Hungarian government officials, members and partners of the Hungarian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, as well as representatives of the media.
“It is an honour and a serious responsibility to represent others. Whether we represent a nation or an ambitious company, a governmental organization or a proud community, a respectful family or a group of similarly thinking intellectuals, it is always about our ability and willingness to protect and support something, that others consider important. It is about trust and commitment,” Rossen Tkatchenko said in his speech.
The ceremony took place at the Bulgarian House of Culture in Budapest, which was built with voluntary donations by the local Bulgarian community. At the reception following the ceremony the traditional Bulgarian culinary creations were accompanied by Hungarian specialties, as well as sparkling wine from Tokaj and wines from Bulgarian wineries.
