The Ambassador of Mexico to Hungary, David Nájera, and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Human Resources, Dr. Zoltán Lőrinczi, awarded 33 outstanding Hungarian students learning Spanish as a foreign language with a medal and diploma .
In his speech, Ambassador Nájera acknowledged the efforts of these young people and the commitment of their teachers, who play a key role in the process of learning and teaching Spanish as a foreign language. He also stressed that the Spanish language, in addition to cultural knowledge, is of economic value, it also offers many professional and business opportunities, as more than 500 million people speak Spanish in the world.
Out of more than 2,000 high school students learning Spanish in Hungary, the winners were nominated by their own educational institutions, including the Illyés Gyula High School in Budaörs, the Herman Ottó High School in Miskolc, the Kodály Zoltán High School in Pécs, the Vetési Albert High School in Veszprém and other dual language institutions or institutions teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The winners received their diplomas in Spanish and Hungarian, as well as the medals, which form the award for excellence together.
