The Budapest Stock Exchange's share index, the BUX, closed at 101,990.76 points on Friday, up 604.28 points or 0.6% on the previous day.
The stock market turnover was HUF 13.8 billion, with leading shares strengthening compared to the previous day's close, with the exception of OTP. Péter Aradványi, chief analyst at Equilor Investment Ltd., said that the Hungarian stock exchange closed the last trading day of the week in positive territory, with the BUX rising above the major European stock indices after underperforming in the previous period.
There was no corporate news that affected the exchange rate. Among the leading shares, Richter and Magyar Telekom strengthened the most, with Richter continuing its rise and Magyar Telekom rebounding after Thursday's decline to reach HUF 1,800, he noted.
Mol rose by HUF 16, or 0.58%, to HUF 2,770, with a turnover of HUF 783.4 million. OTP shares fell by HUF 110, or 0.37%, to HUF 29,560, with a turnover of HUF 5.5 billion. Magyar Telekom's share price rose by HUF 28, or 1.58%, to HUF 1,800, with a turnover of HUF 2.6 billion. Richter shares rose by HUF 190, or 1.83%, to HUF 10,600, with a turnover of HUF 3.8 billion.
The BUMIX index of small and medium-sized shares closed at 9,563.48 points on Friday, up 28.35 points, or 0.3%, from Thursday's close.
