The Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) stock index, the BUX, ended the week at 122,107.32 points, up 0.29% from last Friday’s close.

Shares of three top companies (Mol, Magyar Telekom and Richter) lost value over the week while the price of OTP Bank shares increased.

Commenting on Friday’s events at the stock exchange, András Takács, an equity analyst at Equilor Investment Ltd., told MTI that “correcting the declines of the previous days, the BUX started trading with great momentum on the last trading day of the week, but the index began to slip in the afternoon.” Mol was the day’s winner, with its share price bolstered by an announcement regarding expected dividends. No major macroeconomic news affecting trading was reported; OTP and Richter traded sideways during the day, with the bank’s stock closing in the red and the pharmaceutical stock closing in the green."

Among the leading stocks, Mol’s share price rose by 1.82% compared to last Friday, reaching 3,916 forints.
OTP stock price went up 1.24% over the week, closing on Friday at HUF 35,950.
