Construction Output Volume Up on Pandemic 2020

The volume of construction output in July 2021 surpassed the level one year earlier by 22.5% according to raw data. However, the figure was down by 0.4% compared to the previous month, the Central Statistical Office reports.

In July 2021, compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output rose in both main groups of construction: by 21.1% in the construction of buildings and by 25.4% in civil engineering.

Output grew in all the three divisions of construction: by 27.4% in the construction of buildings, by 11.0% in civil engineering and by 27.3% in specialised construction activities.

The volume of new contracts concluded increased by 47.3%, within which the volume of new contracts for the construction of buildings was 38.3% and the volume regarding civil engineering 56.5% higher in relation to the July 2020 base.

The volume of the end-of-July stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 19.1% above the end-of-July-2020 level. The volume of contracts was up by 32.6% for the construction of buildings and by 10.4% for civil engineering compared to a year earlier.
