Output of Hungary's construction sector rose 17.6% year-on-year in September, albeit from a low base, data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Friday show.
Construction sector output increased 15.2% when adjusted for the number of workdays.
Output of the buildings segment climbed 18.3% and civil engineering output rose 17.1%.
In absolute terms, construction sector output reached HUF 867.6 billion in September. The buildings segment accounted for 62% of the total.
In a month-on-month comparison, construction sector output rose 16.4%, adjusted for seasonal and workday effects.
Order stock was up 40.9% at the end of September compared to twelve months earlier. Buildings segment orders fell 15.9% but civil engineering orders jumped 75.0%.
New order volume slipped 4.8% during the period. New orders in the buildings segment dropped 4.1% and new civil engineering orders declined 5.3%.
In January-September, output of the construction sector rose 1.7% from a year earlier.
