Decreasing Surplus in Hungary's Foreign Trade

Surplus on Hungary's external trade in goods amounted to EUR 836 million in November, exports grew by 0.4% and imports by 1.1% compared to October, the Central Statistical Office reported this Monday.

In November 2020, the volume of exports increased by 12% and that of imports by 7.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. The surplus was EUR 836 million, the balance improving by EUR 507 million compared to November 2019.

According to calendar-adjusted data, the export volume grew by 9.7% and the import volume by 6.0%. Compared to October, the seasonally and working-day-adjusted volume of exports was 0.2% and that of imports 1.6% higher in November. In January–November 2020, the surplus on the balance of external trade in goods amounted to EUR 5.4 billion, EUR 1.2 billion more than one year earlier.
