External Trade Deficit in Goods: EUR 165 Mn in January

The value of Hungarian exports in EUR terms was 15% and that of imports 14% higher in January 2023 than in the same period of the previous year, the Central Statistical Office reports.

The balance of the external trade in goods improved by EUR 78 million. Compared to the previous month, the level of export in goods increased by 7.3% and that of import grew by 7.2%.

In January 2023:
The value of exports amounted to EUR 12,006 million (HUF 4,770 billion) and that of imports to EUR 12,171 million (HUF 4,844 billion).

The deficit of the external trade in goods was EUR 165 million (HUF 74 billion).

The share of EU Member States (EU27_2020) was 78% in exports and 67% in imports.

In January 2023 compared to a year earlier:
The value of exports increased by 15% and that of imports grew by 14% in EUR terms.
