Hungary's cash flow-based general government deficit reached HUF 3,849.8 billion at the end of April, 70.7% of the full-year target, the Ministry of National Economy said in a preliminary release of data.
As reported by MTI, the central budget deficit reached HUF 3,743.4 billion and the social security funds were HUF 150.3 billion in the red, but separate state funds had a surplus of HUF 43.9 billion.
The deficit for the month of April alone reached HUF 429.4 billion.
Revenue from taxes and contributions climbed 8.2% in January-April from the same period a year earlier.
On the expenditure side, pension spending climbed to HUF 3,099.4 billion and spending on transportation and utilities rose to HUF 1,000.9 billion. State investment spending increased "significantly" to HUF 318.8 billion.
Expenditures on support for home renovation and purchases were also "significantly" higher at HUF 175.7 billion.
