The incoming minister of economy and energy, István Kapitány said kickstarting economic growth was one of the most important pillars of building a functioning Hungary in a video posted on social media on Saturday.
István Kapitány said manoeuvering an economy was more like steering a mother ships than a sailboat. "We cannot promise to correct all the mistakes in a hundred days, but we can promise that we will steer the ship in the right direction in the first three months, which most people will already feel," he added.
In some points, there will be spectacular results in the first few months, while the government can only take the first steps in other areas, he said. "I can guarantee one thing, everything will be transparent and we will explain everything properly," thenincoming minister said.
The government will pay special attention to the issue of corruption, he said. Unjustified, overpriced payments will be immediately stopped, while at the same time, the framework ensuring the efficient use of funds will be developed.
"We will review the legal regulation of guest workers, suspend the import of guest workers from June 1, review the framework of subsidies paid to multinational companies operating in Hungary and build a new cooperation that will benefit Hungarian citizens, the state and large employers alike," István Kapitány added.
He also spoke about the development of new tools for economic development that will help domestic small and medium-sized businesses, and the cutting back of unnecessary bureaucracy.
