In February 2022, the volume of industrial production grew by 4.5% year-on-year in Hungary, the country’s Central Statistical Office reports. The working day adjusted index is equal to the non-adjusted one.

According to seasonally and working-day adjusted data industrial output was 1.6% higher than in January 2022.

The majority of the manufacturing subsections contributed to the growth, however, the manufacture of transport equipment representing the largest weight slightly declined. After a stagnation in the previous month the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products and the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco both increased, the latter at a rate above the industrial average.

In the first two months of the year, production was 6.6% higher than in the same period of 2021.

Industrial output in February – according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 1.6% above the level of the previous month.
