Public Procurement Contract Value Falls Heavily in H1

The value of public procurement contracts in Hungary fell 31% year-on-year to HUF 1,877.8 billion in the first half, a report published by the Public Procurement Authority shows.

The number of contracts rose 7% to 8,288 during the period.

Construction contracts accounted for 26.3% of the value of public procurements and orders of goods for 27.1%. Services made up 46.6% of the total.

Microbusinesses and SMEs won 59.1% of contracts in terms of value and 74.6% in terms of numbers, the report shows.

In terms of contract numbers, the share of single-bid contracts was 13p.1% for contracts with values under the threshold for inclusion in the EU's tender system and 26.2% for contracts with values over the threshold. The share of single-bid contracts, in value terms, stood at 7.3% for those under the EU tender system inclusion threshold and 27.3% for those over the threshold.

There were just 85 negotiated procedures called in H1.
