The stock index of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) closed October at 56,035.15 points, up 0.4% compared to the end of September, the BSE announced on Thursday.
The BUX reached its highest monthly value on 18 October with 57 075.3 points. Share turnover fell from HUF 263.7 billion in September to HUF 168 billion, with a daily average of HUF 8 billion.
OTP Bank accounted for HUF 80.6 billion of total turnover, with its share price rising by 1.1% to HUF 13,450 in one month. In terms of turnover, Richter Gedeon was second with HUF 35.7 billion, its share price down 4.9% to HUF 8,475. Mol had a turnover of HUF 28.2 billion in October, with its exchange rate gaining 2.9% to HUF 2876. Magyar Telekom closed the previous month with a turnover of HUF 7.3 billion, up 4.1% to HUF 562.
The commodity market turnover was also outstanding year-on-year at almost HUF 1.6 billion, with sustainable feed corn accounting for all of the trading.
WOOD & Company won the investment service provider race in October with HUF 88.1 billion, with Concorde and Erste in 2nd and 3rd place with HUF 82.6 and 73.9 billion respectively.
