It was 100 years ago (on September 24, 1920), that the Hungarian National Assembly adopted Act XXXI of 1920. with which one of the world's first universities of economics was born in Budapest.
As recalled by the news site index.hu, Rudolf Andorka, the then rector of the university, remembered this date on the 75th anniversary by saying that it was of great significance - even if it was in the crossfire of heated debates - that in 1920, for the first time in the world, a university was organized in Hungary for the cultivation and teaching of economics.
