Hungarian-Korean University Cooperation

The Automotive Research Center of Széchenyi István University in Győr, NW Hungary has signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Urban Studies of Seoul University, so joint research, publications and exchange visits can help their further development in the future.

The Győr university press release says that Vice Rector and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ferenc Friedler emphasized at the meeting prior to the signing of the agreement that the University of Győr is one of Hungary's outstanding higher education institutions in terms of research, organizational operation, financial resources and infrastructure. He pointed out that they are interested in long-term scientific cooperation.

According to Kang Su Kim, Director of the Institute of Urban Studies at Seoul University, there are many links between the two institutions. Seoul University, founded more than a century ago, is one of the best higher education institutions in the South Korean capital and has an excellent research infrastructure, he said. The unique Institute of Urban Studies, with eight departments, covers a wide range of fields from architecture, landscape architecture and transport to geoinformatics.

“The University of Győr also intends to develop its teaching and research activities by expanding its international links, thus contributing to the competitiveness of the region," the statement said.
