The government is planning the school year according to the normal schedule: schools can traditionally start on September 1, The Ministry of Human Capacities (EMMI) told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday.
The development of the coronavirus epidemic in Hungary has been favorable so far, currently it is not justified to replace traditional education with digital education. At the same time, the number of infections is increasing significantly in many countries and domestic data also call for caution. Therefore, the government, the operational staff and the epidemiological authority are constantly assessing the situation and deciding on further measures if necessary. Schools will receive a protocol on what to do to help control the epidemic, the ministry said.
It remains essential that a sick child with symptoms of a coronavirus is not allowed into the community by parents, the statement stressed, adding that "responsible parental behavior and basic precautions can avoid restrictions in schools."
In addition, EMMI, schools and educators will analyze the experiences and results of the out-of-classroom digital work order ordered and successfully operated during the emergency and apply it to the traditional school schedule following professional consultations.
