According to data from the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH), the filling level of domestic natural gas storage facilities in Hungary was 2.86 billion cubic meters on March 15, which is 45.23% of total capacity.
Compared to a year ago, there was 1.6 billion cubic meters more gas in storage in mid-March this year.
The domestic annual consumption rate was 28.9%, while the average consumption rate of European natural gas storage was 16.65%.
The 2.86 billion cubic meters of natural gas in storage – approaching the end of winter – represent 78.69% of annual residential consumption in 2022, MEKH says on its website.
