Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, chief also announced at a press briefing this Thursday that the government is launching a firewood program, imposing an official price on firewood and increasing coal production.
He said that the price of central heating will not increase, the government's aim is to avoid closing schools, kindergartens and nurseries as that would prevent many parents from going to work, which would be detrimental to the country’s economy.
Regarding the price caps on certain basic foodstuff and petrol that would expire on October 1, he added that the government will soon make a decision on whether to extend these.
