In January-September this year, Hungary’s solar capacity increased by 997 MW, the Energy Ministry said in a post on social media on Monday.
With current trends, it is certain that solar capacity will increase by at least 1 GW in 2025, making it the fourth year in a row when capacity increased by such an amount, the ministry said.
Hungary's capacity from renewable sources exceeded 9 GW early in September. The 300,000th solar power plant was commissioned in Hungary in the spring. Hungary is the world leader in the proportion of solar panels in domestic electricity production.
