In cooperation with the 10 Million Trees Foundation, the Budapest cab company Főtaxi continues its tree planting program, which has been running for several years, this time focusing on the busiest areas of Budapest.
Under the professional guidance of the organization, mature, i.e. pre-grown, deciduous trees will be planted, which, once planted, will immediately contribute to increasing the green area of the capital. The current action will bring the total number of trees planted under the company's Green Routes Program to over 2,000.
Mature trees are characterized by their high ornamental value immediately after planting, and their long growing period makes them more vigorous and hardy than their young, mature counterparts. The first trees were planted at the end of this November in Haller Street in District 9, followed by others in District 11 and District 15.
Főtaxi will benefit from the professional support of the 10 Million Tree Foundation for all tree planting and aftercare tasks. The environmental organization's staff will also have access to the highly popular all-electric taxis of Főtaxi.
“As a leading player in the mobility of the capital, we have a major responsibility to reduce emissions and improve air quality. To this end, we are constantly expanding our e-taxi fleet, which is also popular with passengers, and we are proud that with the professional help of the Foundation we can take further significant and immediately positive steps to increase the green surface of the capital,’ the CEO of Főtaxi, Ádám Reich pointed out following the planting of the first tree.
The President of the 10 Million Tree Foundation, Iván András Bojár added that they appreciate the partnership of Főtaxi, “because we are convinced that without the active presence, openness to change and greening of the big market players, the mitigation and future solution of the ecological crisis caused by global warming would remain a hopeless civilian effort. The significance of our joint work is particularly enhanced by the fact that we are taking effective steps together to ensure the viability of Budapest's concrete and stone quarries. The aim of the 10 Million Tree Foundation is to expand partnerships like the one we have now with market leaders in other sectors, not only to improve the lives of Budapest residents, but of all humanity on earth.”
