The Hungarian government has approved a sustainable water management action plan in accordance with the water management reform measures of the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) the environment ministry said on the government website on Wednesday.
In order to implement the Action Plan, the government calls upon the Minister of the Living Environment to ensure that the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Minister of Regional and Rural Development, and the Minister of Economy and Energy, as well as professional organizations and civil society actors, to ensure that water use is regulated in a manner consistent with water resources and climate change projections.
The government’s primary goal is to increase the efficiency of water use in all relevant sectors as much as possible through nature-based solutions and natural water retention measures.
