The best 200 works of the Hungary 365 photo competition are on display at an outdoor photo exhibition entitled ‘Images of Hungary’ in downtown as part of the March 15 national day celebrations.
The competition, which has been running for four years, has so far attracted more than 120,000 entries from professional and amateur photographers.
According to the organizers, the photos are a vision of Hungary today. The aim is to get the pictures to as many people as possible: this was the aim of the Advent exhibition in Debrecen, E Hungary and the current exhibition on the embankment of the River Danube.
Photographer Ottó Kaiser, chairman of the jury of the photo competition and curator of the exhibition, said that the images for the open-air event were selected from more than 120,000 images, grouped by theme.
On the circular fence of the park in front of the Vigadó event center, there are pictures of life, sport, theater, dance, portraits and social events. On the Danube bank and the hotel row, 70 double-sided transparent installations have been set up, with 130 pictures, mainly from the nature and landscape categories, but also some close-ups of nudes.
