Responsibility for a common future is the main reason for the creation of the Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and World Summit, Hungarian President János Áder said on Monday at the opening of the event.
The Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and World Summit, which takes place from November 29 to December 5, will feature 185 exhibitors from the smallest start-ups to the largest companies, on an area of around 20,000 square meters, the Hungarian state news agency MTI reports.
More than a third of them come from the Visegrád Four (V4) countries. They will showcase how Central Europe is making progress in areas such as agriculture, waste management, smart cities, energy and transport.
Planet Budapest 2021 is the most prestigious international diplomatic meeting on sustainability in the Central European region. It will bring together policy-makers, academics and high-level representatives of international organisations, funding institutions and companies at the forefront of sustainability solutions.
Global and regional funding institutions and business leaders committed to sustainability will also play an important role in the WSSD program. The WSSD aims to play a role in driving the sustainability turnaround, with participants seeking answers to questions such as what the post-pamdemic world could look like, what lessons can be learned and what needs to change.
One of the highlights of the unique event is the spectacular and informative exhibition 'Your Planet', where 66 installations on 12 islands showcase the negative trends shaping the future of the Earth and possible solutions.
