The Sziget festival, held annually on Óbuda Island in the Danube in Budapest, was again awarded for standing up for societal issues at the European Festival Awards in Groningen, in the Netherlands.
The festival was recognized in the category 'Take a Stand', founded to recognize events taking a stand for peaceful dialogue, humanity, tolerance and mutual understanding, Sziget press chief Viktória Vető said. Sziget already received the prize once, in 2024, she added.
Earlier, Sziget Festival also received the Grand Prize and the Prize for Best line-up twice each, the press chief said.
