This year’s Sziget Festival welcomes visitors with a new concept: the Jardin des Arts (Garden of the Arts) connects the worlds of contemporary circus, dance, audiovisual arts, and multidisciplinary performances as a cohesive cultural quarter, allowing visitors to be not only spectators but also creators of the experiences.

According to a press release sent to MTI by the organizers on Thursday, this year’s Sziget Festival will see a significant expansion in the number of music and other cultural districts, where programs are brought together either by genre similarities or cultural diversity.

The press release highlights that in 2026, the festival will further strengthen the unique character of its artistic programs: this year’s focus is on immersive experiences and the active involvement of the audience, a central element of which will be the Jardin des Arts, or Garden of the Arts.

Jenna Jalonen, Sziget’s head of arts and experiential programs, is quoted as saying that the Jardin des Arts is a defining element of the revamped structure. "It is important to us that contemporary circus, dance, audiovisual, and multidisciplinary productions do not simply exist side by side, but rather inspire and reinforce one another."

As the new home for large-scale productions, Le Grand Théâtre provides a venue for spectacular circus and dance performances, where more than 1,500 spectators can watch the shows every evening in an amphitheater-like structure. Among others, the French contemporary circus company Collective XY will perform its show titled Möbius on this stage.
