The Budapest Stock Exchange's share index, the BUX, closed at a new all-time high of 49,015.24 points on Monday, up 169.40 points or 0.35% .
Turnover on the stock market was HUF 7.1 billion forints on Monday, with the leading shares gaining on Friday's close, with the exception of that of MOL.
Lajos Török, senior analyst at Equilor Befektetési Zrt. told the state news agency MTI that trading on the Hungarian stock exchange was not very eventful. Investors on international markets are also waiting ahead of the Fed's interest rate decision meeting on Wednesday.
The Hungarian stock index ended the day slightly up on low turnover, but this modest rise also means that the BUX closed at a new high after Friday, he added.
MOL fell by HUF 12, 0.49%, to 2,426 forints on turnover of 1.7 billion forints.
OTP shares gained HUF 70, or 0.42%, to HUF 16,630, with a turnover of HUF 3.2 billion.
Magyar Telekom's share price rose by HUF 1.5, or 0.36%, to HUF 424, with a turnover of HUF 71.9 million.
The price of Richter shares rose by HUF 30, or 0.36%, to HUF 8,305, with a turnover of HUF 1.3 billion.
