For the eighteenth time, the ‘Mastercard – Bank of the Year’ competition is looking for the most outstanding financial service providers. This year, the performance of financial institutions will be measured in seven categories and a grand prize winner will be selected, the global payment technology company told MTI.

They stressed that in addition to the quality of traditional banking services, a number of other aspects will be examined. Entries are invited in categories such as Remittance Solution of the Year, Business Segment Program of the Year, Youth Financial Solution of the Year, CSR Initiative of the Year, Cybersecurity Education Campaign of the Year and Acquisition Marketing Campaign of the Year.

This year, entrants will also be competing in the Easy and Convenient Banking Experience of the Year category, with judges looking not only at digital, but also at the branch banking experience.

The winner of the grand prize will be decided on the basis of the results in each of the seven categories and will be announced at the closing gala next February.

This year's grand prize went to OTP Bank, with financial institutions competing in six categories based on their 2022 activities.

Granite Bank came first in the categories Digital Banking UX (user experience) Solution of the Year and Program for Young People, while MKB Bank came first in the categories Premium Banking Activity and Employer Branding Activity. K&H Bank won the Sustainable Initiative of the Year category, while Raiffeisen Bank and IQOM fintech company won the Next Generation Payment Solutions category.

Mastercard is present in more than 210 countries, with 4,500 payment transactions per second in 150 currencies.
