This year, the Italian Gastronomy Week in Hungary will take place for the sixth time from November 22 to 28, 2021.
Launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as part of a comprehensive country promotion program called 'Italian Lifestyle' and implemented by the Italian diplomatic-consular network, cultural institutions and foreign trade institutes, the program aims to raise consumer awareness of the distinctive features of the Italian agri-food industry, such as quality, sustainability, culture, food safety, education, identity, countryside and biodiversity.
This year's event will focus on the theme 'Tradition and future of Italian cuisine: exploiting awareness and sustainable food'. As in previous years, the thematic program will focus on the Mediterranean diet as a healthy and balanced nutritional model.
The program, produced for the Hungarian public in digital format by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) Budapest Office, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Academy of Gastronomy, will be available on the ICE Budapest Office website www.italianfestival.eu/, where short films and information on the theme will be made available.
