The Pizza Hut fast-food chain plans to expand further in Hungary, opening new restaurants through franchise partners primarily in rural towns with a population of 30-50,000, the company told MTI on Thursday.
The company opened its first franchised restaurant in Szeged in June 2023. Under the franchise system, AmRest, which operates Pizza Hut restaurants, will provide its partners with the necessary business model, infrastructure, marketing and design, as well as help them develop their offerings. The company, which has 30 years of experience in restaurant management, also provides training and consultancy services to restaurant owners and employees, they said.
There are currently 25 Pizza Hut restaurants in Hungary, and the plan is to continue expanding through franchising, the statement quoted Miklós Kozák, director of Pizza Hut Hungary, as saying, adding that "currently we would open new stores in towns with a population of at least 50,000, but this may change, and perhaps a town with a population of 30,000 could be suitable, because brand coverage and good accessibility nationwide are important to us".
Pizza Hut operates more than 19,000 restaurants in 100 countries worldwide.
