‘Plum Naughty Prince’, the work of pastry chef Orsolya Karikó won the title of Hungary's cake this year, while László Gyuris' cake, Grandma's Favorite, won the title of Hungary's sugar-free cake, according to announcements on Monday in Hungarian Parliament.
László Selmeczi, co-chairman of the National Association of Hungarian Confectioners, said the winner of the 16th edition of the Hungary's Cake competition was a harmonious combination of the flavors of red wine from Eger and plum, created by Orsolya Karikó, pastry chef at Vanília & Gelarto Handcraft Confectionery in Nagykőrös.
Second was Pál Lakatos' Blue Apron Treasure cake from Levendula & Garden Confectionery in Szigetszentmiklós, and finishing in third place was Zita Szivós' Seasons cake from Major Confectionery in Budapest.
László Nándori, chairman of the jury of the Hungary's sugar-free cake competition, said that fancy cake Grandma's Favorite, created by László Gyuris, pastry chef of Virág Confectionery and Café in Szeged, has created a, which includes raspberry, white chocolate pistachio crunch, mascarpone mousse with hibiscus blossom and rosehip leaves, and a sponge cake that contains no cereal flour.
