Due to the decrease in blood supply, the Hungarian National Blood Transfusion Service (OVSZ) provides blood preparations only for urgent interventions. The Service calls for people to donate blood.
After a long weekend of four days, the help of blood donors is extremely needed. This is because the situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic, the summer holidays and the long weekend have reduced the national blood supply.
Therefore, until the number of blood donations is again sufficient, blood will only be provided for urgent interventions, OVSZ stressed.
The Service reminded that donating blood donations to patients means healing, often survival.
