From Friday this week until the dawn of the New Year, the Christmas Market will again be open to everyone in one of the most beautiful locations of Budapest, in downtown Vörösmarty Square. That is where organizers invite people to celebrate the most beautiful holiday of the year under the name 'Vörösmarty Classic Xmas'.
The Vörösmarty statue in the center of the square will be covered in a transparent "snow globe", and a led wall will be built around the statue, which will also serve as a multimedia information point: in addition to the information content, visitors will also be able to participate in a community game that can be activated by a QR code.
The organizers say that the Crystal Palace will also feature a giant Christmas tree and a free train, which will allow families to see the festive decorations of the Lion's Fountain up close. Visitors can also enjoy light installations featuring Alice in Wonderland characters.
The press release issued stresses that the gastronomic exhibitors of the Vörösmarty Classic Xmas will offer the public traditional Hungarian food and drink culture dishes related to the Christmas holiday. This year, the organizers have again ensured that everyone can choose the food and drink that suits their budget, there will also be a wine-pairing menu, and one dish per day will be available at each large kitchen, which visitors can buy at a fixed price of HUF 1,500.
Handicraft exhibitors will select their traditional handicraft products in the spirit of preserving tradition, but there will also be a craft house as an educational venue where interested children can take part in weekend workshops, the press release says.
In addition to the exhibitors, the organizers will also provide supporting space for the Heim Pál Children's Hospital.
At the Christmas market, craftsmen and exhibitors will be present until December 28, after which preparations will take place for what organizers promise to be a fantastic New Year's Eve party looking forward to the New Year.
