AccorInvest has changed its name and corporate identity and is now operating under the name Essendi, including in Hungary, the hotel operator announced to MTI.
French-owned Essendi operates 576 hotels in 24 countries under international brands such as ibis, ibis Styles, Mercure, and Novotel. It has ten hotels in Hungary in its portfolio.
At the end of last year, the estimated value of the company's portfolio reached EUR 7.8 billion (HUF 3,120 billion). Its revenue last year was EUR 4 billion (HUF 1,600 billion), up 3.1% compared to 2023. It employs more than 20,000 people. In Hungary, the company's net sales revenue in 2024 was HUF 29 billion, and its pre-tax profit was HUF 15 billion, according to the announcement.
The rebranding is a symbolic conclusion to the transformation that began in 2020. In recent years, the company has rebuilt its operations, focusing its portfolio on the most profitable European economy and mid-range segments, while increasing the value of its hotels through renovations, acquisitions, and sales, according to the announcement.
They explained that behind the new identity is the aspiration for hotels to be not just places to stay, but inspiring, community-building spaces. As part of Essendi's ESG sustainability strategy, it aims to halve its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2050.
